Why Micro Weddings are the Ultimate Intimate Experience
Micro weddings are becoming a beloved choice for couples seeking a meaningful and intimate celebration. With a smaller guest list, couples can focus on the moments that truly matter—heartfelt vows, genuine conversations, and an atmosphere that feels warm and personal. Unlike large-scale weddings that can feel rushed or overwhelming, micro weddings offer a more relaxed and intentional experience. They allow couples to savor every detail of their special day without the stress of managing a big crowd.

Flexibility of a Micro Wedding
One of the biggest advantages of a micro wedding is the flexibility it offers. Without the constraints of a large venue or an extensive guest list, couples can opt for unique locations that hold personal significance, such as a scenic mountaintop, a cozy backyard, or a charming boutique venue. This freedom also extends to the budget, allowing couples to invest in the details that matter most—whether it’s a gourmet dining experience, stunning floral arrangements, or a custom wedding dress.
Visualizing Your Wedding Day
I also encourage my bridal couples to reevaluate the “getting ready” photos and experience, as this wedding structure offers flexibility and time. Imagine waking up together, making coffee, and taking a slow morning in your Airbnb, looking out the window as the sunrise makes an appearance. You put the phones on silent (we’ve already let everyone know about addresses, timelines, etc.), take a shower together, and hold hands over breakfast. As your photographer, I come in after these sacred moments and document as you gather your wedding attire, put finishing touches in your vow books, and capture your partner helping you zip up your dress and/or tighten your tie. This is all possible because we have taken the chaos out of what is supposed to be an intimate day.
As you both walk into the gathering place of friends and family, you are reminded of why you chose to have a micro wedding. Micro weddings create an environment where couples can truly connect with their loved ones. With fewer guests, there’s more time to engage in meaningful conversations, share laughter, and create memories in a beautiful and slowed-down way. The intimate setting fosters a sense of togetherness that can sometimes be lost in larger weddings, making the experience even more special for both the couple and their guests.
Celebrating your Love
In my experience, with my beautiful couples in Oregon, Utah, Alaska, Hawaii, Colorado, and many other places, I can confidently say that your wedding day can be peaceful and full of joy. A micro wedding is about celebrating love in a way that feels authentic and intentional. Whether it’s a simple elopement-style ceremony or a carefully curated event, the beauty of a micro wedding lies in its ability to prioritize intimacy and connection. By choosing a smaller, more personal celebration, couples can create a wedding day that is not only beautiful but deeply memorable.
